About Katharine
Katharine is a multidisciplinary storyteller who crafts stories with words and images for audiences of all ages. She was a Digital Producer at the ABC for five years, writing, producing and directing content for broadcast and online. During her time at the ABC she created the smash-hit Story Salad and Gardening Buds podcasts and directed a 20 episode series for ABC iView.
Katharine is also an award-winning filmmaker whose short films have screened at Academy Accredited festivals, cinemas across the USA and Australia, and on Virgin In-Flight Entertainment. Katharine is interested in life’s ambiguities and grey areas. Her films explore how shifts in perspective can lead to profound change. She is also fascinated by the wonders of the natural world and loves getting out into nature photographing birds and wildlife.
Published in 2022, her debut picture book Cockatoo Magic appeared on the Kids Best Seller list at Better Read Than Dead Bookshop in Newtown.
In 2024 Katharine was a Screen Lecturer in BA Production at AFTRS and directed the short film horror film Blank Canvas for Bus Stop Films.
She tutors emerging filmmakers at Bus Stop Films and runs writing workshops at libraries and community centres in Sydney.
