About Katharine
Katharine is a multidisciplinary storyteller who crafts stories with words and images for audiences of all ages. She was a Digital Producer at the ABC for five years, writing, producing and directing content for broadcast and online. During her time at the ABC she created the smash-hit Story Salad and Gardening Buds podcasts and directed a 20 episode series for ABC iView.
Katharine is also an award-winning filmmaker whose short films have screened at global festivals, cinemas worldwide, and on Virgin’s In-Flight Entertainment.
In 2024 Katharine spent a year as BA Screen Lecturer at AFTRS. She currently tutors emerging filmmakers at Bus Stop Films.
Published in 2022, her debut picture book Cockatoo Magic appeared on the Kids Best Seller list at Better Read Than Dead, Newtown.
Katharine is an award winning wildlife photographer, who’s photographs have been shared online by ABC Australia and the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. She recently exhibited a photograph in the Botanica Exhibition at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney.
Katharine has been is the Family Films Curator at Sydney Film Festival for five years.
